Colonsay Long Island Spiced Tea Cocktail
Quite a lot going on with this one - but persevere - it's super tasty!
A subtle riff on the classic, which is in Difford's Guide on their website. The spice element in Colonsay Long Island Spiced Tea is simply that you replace white rum with spiced rum. That provided the perfect opportunity to use Cut O The Rum Spiced Rum, with its delicious vanilla & caramel flavours, tempered by a little peppery spice. This tasty rum is backed up here by 4 more excellent spirits - Cazcabel Tequila Blanco , Colonsay Gin Cait Sith, Puffing Billy Vodka and Cointreau
The only change to the recipe on Difford’s, is the lime juice quantity is halved. The site specifies 30ml and we've instead kept things simple by using 15ml of every single ingredient (except the Cola). Not saying this is an improvement, but for our personal taste the lime flavour was just too strong in the original. Also, don’t forget to stir this before you drink it 😊
Method and ingredients below:
15ml Cut O The Rum Spiced Rum
15ml Cazcabel Tequila Blanco
15ml Puffing Billy Vodka
15ml Cointreau
15ml Lime Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup
Coca Cola to top up
Shake all ingredients (except the Cola) with ice until well chilled. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass, then top up with Cola. We’ve garnished with lime. Stir before drinking.
