We bought the original house – Tigh na Uruisg – back in 2007, but it wasn’t until 2012 that building works started in earnest and a new, larger house rose from the foundations of the old. Even with Finlay’s architectural and property development background, the harsh realities of such an ambitious building project in such an unforgiving and remote environment meant it took much longer than planned. The house was finished in 2016.
